What is Nutri-Score?
What does Nutri-Score mean?
Nutri-Score is a color-coded nutritional label that classifies foods and beverages according to their nutritional profile, with a scale from A (healthier choices) to E (less healthy choices).
The system allows a holistic understanding of the nutritional quality of a product, to enable people to make informed decisions towards healthier diets. Also, this makes it easy to compare products of the same type of foods / beverages to each other.
How is the Nutri-Score calculated?
Nutri-Score gives a rating to the product based on a scientific algorithm. It takes into account ingredients that are good for you and therefore to be encouraged, such as nuts, fruit, vegetables, fibers and proteins. It also takes into account ingredients to limit, such as sugars, energy (calories), sodium (salt) and saturated fat. Nutri-score is based on 100gr or 100ml of product.
Why the Nutri-Score is important to us?
It is voluntary for brands to have the Nutri-Score on packaging. Scientific evidence and consumer research have shown that Nutri-score enables consumers to choose the right products to be part of their healthy and balanced diets. On top of the Nutri-score implemented on all our products, our consumers can find the different nutrients of our products on the back of the package, as well as on our website.
